How To Be More Influential

Being labelled as influential elicits two possible reactions. 

1. Snickering and/or scoffing, because how stuffy can you be. 

2. A dramatic sigh because you want to be the living embodiment of that word, one follower and LinkedIn endorsement at a time. 

In all seriousness, it's truly possible for anyone to be influential and it doesn't have to be one of those buzzwordy labels that people can't stand. 

Close the deal. Nail the pitch. Land the job. These are things that can use a heavy dose of influential nature. 

Problem is, it's hard to nail down just what makes people influential. People do different things, succeed in different ways and have different goals. 

But here's a tip from Jonah Berger: mimic others. They do say that imitation is the highest form of flattery, right?
