Chewbacca Mom Is Just the Beginning

June 22, 2016 Dillon Baker of Contently

On our note of what it means to embrace change today, we're sharing an important message for marketers to accept, embrace, flow with: Chewbacca Mom was only the beginning.

As social media platforms evolve and add more tools or capabilities to their arsenals, it becomes that much more crucial to know how to use them and what content belongs where.

Nobody likes verbal vomit, and well, we don't like content vomit. It doesn't make sense to recycle the same kind of content for each platform, but it does make sense to morph with the change.

Take Facebook. This Contently article put it perfectly: Facebook continues to transition away from a social network and becomes a content network.

With changes to its native video player and the introduction of Facebook Live, a nice cozy nook has been created for the nurturing of viral hits.

So everybody, grab your Chewbacca masks. It's time to get with the times.
