Do you know what it means to be a social butterfly?
It's not that person you envied in high school who could talk about anything with anyone.
It's the person who can hang with the hashtags, be in the know on which social media giants owns which app and navigate the all the tiny (or huge) feature updates that you had no idea about.
Oh and this all happens well before her first coffee, we might add.
Logan Kazman, The Tite Group's own social media specialist, is just that person around here. Every Tuesday, she'll be sharing "Learning with Logan" where you'll get the inside scoop on the top social media news of the week.
All in point form too. Phew!
Ikea’s Iconic Blue Bag
Ikea’s signature blue 99-cent plastic bag has had quite the press lately (thanks to Balenciaga). Funny enough, it’s also the 30th birthday of the company, and in their latest spot the brand pays tribute to the iconic and versatile carrier.
Hit or Miss: This is a great way for the brand to play into their roots and to drive home their overall philosophy of “democratic design.” What’s so special about this ad is that it hardly touches on any products at all, but rather, focuses on the brand mascot, the hallmark bag that defines Ikea. This stripped-down spot illustrates how Ikea is a brand built on utility.
The Apple Apocalypse
In the latest video by Apple, the brand shows the important role technology (Apple technology) plays in our lives. This new spot was what Apple used to kick off World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) that started today.
Hit or Miss: A well done and clever dystopian film that highlights just how dependent Apple is on the work of developers. The overall messaging is funny, lighthearted, and most importantly, effective. The spot concludes with the powerful line “Keep making apps. The world is dependent on you.”
Facebook Updates in Support of Pride Month
It comes as no surprise that Facebook has rolled out updates to support Pride month. Some of the new features include rainbow stickers, a pride theme profile picture frame, pride reaction, as well as a whole slew of Instagram stickers.
Hit or Miss: The new update is a fun and easy way for Facebook users to partake in the month-long events. Facebook proudly takes a stance and supports the diverse online community that makes up 76,000 Facebook groups. Seeing as people would be posting their Pride events all month long, now thanks to Facebook they can add even more colour to their posts.
