Ask a creative (or just any person on the street) how they unlock their creativity, and expect to get groans and/or heavy sighs.
The creative process, if there even is such a thing, is hard to pin down. Inspiration doesn't just magically appear (nor should people wait for it) and sometimes a drought just hits, unasked for and unwelcome.
However, this doesn't mean you're done for. It doesn't matter if you flip burgers or run a company - you can, and are, creative.
If you don't want your product, output or even life to become stale, it's imperative you learn to unleash it.
Creativity is what drives purpose. And it doesn't matter what you do, purpose will always be at the heart of it.
According to Rod Junkins, who runs the course Developing your Creativity at Central Saint Martins, there are three ways to switch things up.
1. Switch roles.
2. Don't look at projects as problems.
3. Brainstorm independently.
